日本の結婚式に於ける菜食主義 Vegetarian at the Japanese wedding party
先週末は秋田時代の友人の結婚式に夫婦揃って出席して参りました。にしても披露宴の出席者数、230人!インドの結婚式並みですょ。さすが田舎の結婚式は違う。
ところで私達夫婦はベジタリアンなんですが、生活において一番困るのはこういった冠婚葬祭での食事と、旅の宿泊先での食事。しかし、今回は新郎新婦にそこら辺を伝えた所、旅館での朝食は鮭の塩焼きを除けば豆腐と茸の煮物、切り干し大根のおひたしなど、出汁は魚っぽかったのですが、何とか頑張ってくれましたが、披露宴の料理はホント凄かった。最初刺身や魚の蒸し焼きが出てきたのですが、係の方に「魚介類もダメですが…」と伝えた所、出てきた料理が以下の通り。

フランスパンとロールパン
コーンスープ
チーズの盛り合わせ
湯葉と夕顔のあんかけスープ
精進揚げ(野菜の天ぷら)

喰い切れませんでした…。旦那はビールでお腹いっぱいだったみたいですが:)

Last weekend we went to our old friends wedding party in Akita. We were surprized at the number of guests, about 230 people!! It’s like an Indian wedding party. Because country people in Japan have strong relationships with relatives, co-workers and friends, they often invite lots of guests to the wedding. but…I’ve never heard and been invited to such a big party ever!!
By the way we are veggie and often hit some problems in Japan, like having dinner at wedding parties or Japanese hotels. Their gorgeous main dishes are mainly sashimi raw fish. but we asked the bride and groom about our meals in advance. Even though the hotel served grilled salmon for breakfast. Except for that I can eat most of them anyhow (most Japanese foods contain fish broth. I dont care for that so much). And on the wedding party we ate lots of lacto-ovo dishes like…

Steamed vegetables on grilled cheese
Baguettes and rolled bread with margarine
Corn soup
Cheese a la carte
Chinese-style clear soup with yuba(skinned tofu) and bottle gourd
Shojin age (vegetable tempura)
Inaniwa udon (traditional thin and flat noodle in Akita served in fish broth and soy sauce soup)
Lemon sherbet
Melon
I was full… My husband was full with beer though:)
