恒例の大食い王 The king of great eaters
いゃー今年もこの季節が来ましたね、ホットドッグ早食い選手権。そして、津波の異名を持つ小林尊。今年は韓国系米国女性が2位とこれも凄かった。
Wikipediaに書いてるのを読むと、菜食主義団体からの抗議があったりもするみたいですが、同じベジタリアンでも私達夫婦は憧れますねぇー。あんな気持ちいい食べ方してると。それもデブじゃない。
にしても、いろんなフードファイター（って言うみたいですよ）のホームページを見ると、凄いですね。ジャンボラーメン3人前食べてまだお腹が空いてたので、餃子とご飯を更に注文して賞金１万貰いましたとか、訳が分かりません。それも私よりガリガリ。たまに他のフードファイターらと大人数で店に挑戦しに行った日にゃ、店側にしたらたまったもんじゃないですょ。
私もあぁなりたい。しかし、ひと昔前中学生が早食いで死亡したのからテレビ番組でも取り上げにくくなってきた悲しいご時世。残念です:(
Nathan’s hot dog eating contest has finished for this year. It is really famous in Japan, because a Japanese guy Takeru “The Tsunami” Kobayashi (who organizes UFFO) has won the contest for 5 years in a row. This year a skinny Korean-American woman took 2nd prize. That’s also really amazing!
And I checked other Japanese great eaters(”food fighters” in Japanese) websites. Their stomach are really awful, like a guy who ate gyouza and rice after eating 3 big bowls of noodles and got a 10000 yen (about $95US) prize! But he’s really skinny. And sometime he went dining with his friends. They are also great eaters. For the restaurants they went to that’s really scarey.
A couple of years ago a junior high school student died after an eating contest at the school festival. Because of this most TV programmes don’t follow such contests. That’s sad:(
